Abstract

ESTE ESTUDO ANALISOU O POTENCIAL DE IMPLANTAÇÃO DE UM CONTRATO FUTURO DA MADEIRA DE REFLORESTAMENTO NO BRASIL, COM FOCO EM MADEIRA DE EUCALYPTUS PARA CELULOSE. O MODELO DE PENNINGS E LEUTHOLD (1999), FOI TOMADO COMO REFERÊNCIA, O QUAL É BASEADO NA ABORDAGEM MACRO E MICRO DA TOMADA DE DECISÃO SOBRE A IMPLANTAÇÃO DE UM CONTRATO FUTURO. OS DADOS FORAM COLETADOS POR MEIO DE QUESTIONÁRIOS DIRECIONADOS ÀS EMPRESAS DE CELULOSE E DE REVISÃO DE LITERATURA. CONSTATOU-SE QUE A CONCENTRAÇÃO DO MERCADO E A INTEGRAÇÃO VERTICAL SÃO AS ÚNICAS DESVANTAGENS PARA O DESENVOLVIMENTO DE UM CONTRATO FUTURO DE MADEIRA NO PAÍS. JÁ A ANÁLISE DO PERFIL DOS TOMADORES DE DECISÃO E DAS EMPRESAS MOSTROU-SE FAVORÁVEL AO DESENVOLVIMENTO DO REFERIDO CONTRATO, UMA VEZ QUE OS TOMADORES DE DECISÃO POSSUEM CARACTERÍSTICAS DE INDIVÍDUOS PROPENSOS A NEGOCIAR EM BOLSAS. PORTANTO, CONCLUIU-SE QUE EXISTE UM GRANDE POTENCIAL PARA O DESENVOLVIMENTO DE UM CONTRATO FUTURO DE MADEIRA NO BRASIL.------------------------------------------------THE AIM OF THIS WORK WAS TO ANALYZE THE POTENTIAL FOR THE IMPLANTATION OF A FUTURE CONTRACT OF REFORESTATION WOOD IN BRAZIL, FOCUSING EUCALYPTUS WOOD FOR WOOD PULP. THE MODEL OF PENNINGS E LEUTHOLD (1999), WAS TAKEN AS REFERENCE WHICH IS BASED ON THE MACRO AND MICRO APPROACH TO TAKE DECISION ON THE IMPLANTATION OF A FUTURE CONTRACT. THE DATA WERE COLLECTED THROUGH QUESTIONNAIRES ADDRESSED TO THE WOOD PULP COMPANIES AS WELL AS LITERATURE REVISION. THE RESULTS SHOWED THAT THE CONCENTRATION OF THE MARKET AND THE VERTICAL INTEGRATION ARE THE ONLY DISADVANTAGES FOR THE A FUTURE CONTRACT OF WOOD IN BRAZIL. HOWEVER, THE ANALYSIS OF THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE MANAGERS AND THE COMPANIES APPEARED TO BE FAVORABLE TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE REFERRED CONTRACT, AS ALL THE MANAGERS POSSESS PRONE INDIVIDUALS' CHARACTERISTICS TO NEGOTIATE IN EXCHANGE. TO SUM UP, IT BECOME DEAR THAT, IN FACT, THERE IS A HIGH POTENTIAL TO DEVELOP A FUTURE CONTRACT OF WOOD IN BRAZIL.
