Abstract

O objetivo deste trabalho foi verificar a concentração na agroindústria canavieira do Estado de Minas Gerais pós-desregulamentação setorial. Os resultados (obtidos via CR4 e CR8, índices de Hirschmann-Herfindahl, de Rosenbluth e entropia) apontaram para um aumento da concentração da produção de cana. Este aumento da concentração, dado principalmente mediante crescimento das empresas de grande porte, justifica-se pela reestruturação do setor baseada no aumento da competitividade, em adequação ao novo cenário imposto pela desregulamentação setorial.---------------The objective of this paper was to verify the concentration of the sugar cane agro-industry in the Minas Gerais State after the sectorial deregulation. The results (CR4 and CR8, Hirschmann-Herfindahl index, Rosenbluth and entropy index) have shown an increase in the concentration of the sugar cane production. This increase of the concentration, occurred mainly due to the growth of the biggest companies, it justifies for the restructuring of the industry based on increasing competitiveness, in adjust to the new scene placed by the sectorial deregulation.
