Abstract

O trabalho apresenta alguns dos depoimentos colhidos no bairro rural denominado Peitudo, no município de Ouro Fino – Minas Gerais.--------------------The article presents a few considerations about the utility and importance of oral testimonies as a way to capture the diversity of representations that inhabitants of rural neighborhoods keep about their locality, their work in agriculture and the transformations in the rural environment. These testimonies can both portray the memories of older dwellers as express how the generations now entering the productive process see their practice. A careful study of these testimonies can provide important cues for the design of endogenous, participative or local development proposals. The article presents some of the testimonies collected at the rural neighborhood named Peitudo, in the town of Ouro Fino – Minas Gerais.
