El abandono escolar temprano en España ¿Es posible su reducción?

Abstract

Los indicadores habitualmente utilizados para medir el fracaso escolar ponen en evidencia la clara necesidad de España por mejorar su alta tasa de abandono escolar prematuro, el nivel educativo de la población de 20 a 24 años y las dificultades de comprensión lectora de los alumnos. A pesar de las actuaciones llevadas a cabo en los últimos veinte años, todavía no se ha logrado un avance significativo. El objetivo de esta comunicación es analizar la situación española actual desde una perspectiva comparada y establecer una serie de medidas para reducir el fracaso escolar, una de las asignaturas pendientes del sistema educativo.
