    Abstract

-- Employees are one of the most important resources of an organization. Thereby, the success of an organization depends especially on the willingness to perform which goes beyond the legally fixed job description. In this context, there is a focus on the research of Organizational-Citizenship-Behavior (OCB) since the 80s. This work summarizes based on theoretical foundations, in which dimensions this behavior manifests itself, which antecedents lead the employees to OCB, and which potential consequences it could have for the organization. The second part points out the deficits of the OCBdefinition and the conceptual framework, and also discusses the theoretical approach of the creation of the construct and the transfer of the concept to other cultures.
