Zur Aussagekraft der PISA-2006-Ergebnisse: Chancen und Herausforderungen für den österreichischen Arbeitsmarkt

Abstract

Die jüngsten PISA-Ergebnisse zeigen Österreich neuerlich nur im Mittelfeld der untersuchten Länder – eine Position, die für ein Land mit einer Spitzenstellung gemessen am Pro-Kopf-Einkommen in Europa und einer Top-10-Position unter den Industrieländern enttäuschend erscheint. Die Aussagen der PISA-Studie sollten aber nicht unkritisch verwendet werden: Erhebungsprobleme oder Unterschiede zwischen den Zielsetzungen der Schulsysteme haben erheblichen Einfluss auf die Ergebnisse. Zudem wäre kritisch zu hinterfragen, ob die gemessenen Unterschiede über die Zeit und zwischen den Ländern statistisch signifikant sind.
