Abstract

Este texto aborda dos tópicos de especial importancia para el trabajo empírico relacionado con las ciencias sociales: la modelación de datos de panel y variables dependientes limitadas. Los principales elementos distintivos de este texto son su enfoque dual y su presentación. Por un lado, se desarrolla una referencia analítica centrada en el planteamiento de los modelos estadísticos teóricos y en el cálculo de los efectos impacto. Del otro lado, el lector puede encontrar casos aplicados con información e interrogantes reales. En esta segunda parte, el énfasis recae en cómo aplicar las técnicas de estimación en el paquete estadístico Stata y, algo muy importante, en cómo interpretar, presentar y discutir sus resultados a la luz de un objetivo de investigación y una hipótesis de trabajo específica.
