Abstract

Este trabajo estudia cuatro aspectos relacionados con la economía oculta en la Argentina: su magnitud, sus causas, sus consecuencias y las prescripciones de políticas tendientes a reducir su tamaño y sus efectos negativos sobre la economía. El trabajo aporta estimaciones del PBI no registrado, la subdeclaración de ingresos en encuestas de hogares, la magnitud de la evasión en el IVA, las ganancias, los impuestos internos y la informalidad laboral. El trabajo contribuye a esclarecer los determinantes de la economía oculta, tanto generales como específicos de ciertos sectores y gravámenes, y a precisar sus consecuencias económicas y sociales.
