    Abstract

    Volver a leer este libro –en una traducción– que escribí hace más de 35 años ha sido una experiencia interesante. Desde luego, había olvidado casi todo lo que dije entonces, de manera que era casi como leer algo escrito por otra persona. La lectura me recordó los meses que solíamos pasar en Bogotá con Marina –mi María– durante los veranos, cuando nos gustaba volver a su tierra nativa, y ver a su familia. Es un verdadero placer constatar que hoy existe una verdadera edición crítica de María, gracias al trabajo inmenso de María (¡por supuesto!) Teresa Cristina, y bellamente impresa por la Universidad Externado de Colombia y la Universidad del Valle. Esperamos impacientemente la publicación de las demás obras de Isaacs, las cuales permitirán a los estudiosos conocer todo el pensamiento escrito de este eximio escritor. ¡Ojalá salgan pronto!
