Abstract

Esta obra es el fruto de una investigación apoyada financieramente por el gis Réseau Amérique Latine y el Institut de Recherche pour le Développement (ird, UR 013). La idea fundadora de este proyecto era la de aprovechar los resultados de las investigaciones que han realizado desde hace unos diez años diferentes equipos franceses sobre las ciudades colombianas, organizando, en forma de ciclo de seminarios escalonados a lo largo de dos años (2000-2002), intercambios alrededor de cuestiones claves de la investigación sobre las ciudades y los sistemas de ciudades. El grupo constituido de esta manera, a través de la confrontación de puntos de vista y de métodos generalmente segmentados y aplicados a terrenos separados, se fijó como objetivo no simplemente establecer un “estado del arte” sobre la cuestión urbana en Colombia, sino producir conocimientos nuevos obtenidos gracias a la colaboración entre los diferentes miembros del equipo, quienes cuentan con una gran base disciplinaria y con experiencias de investigación muy diversificadas.
