Abstract

El eminente constitucionalista norteamericano James Grant, profesor en la Universidad de California, fue un asiduo y penetrante investigador de los sistemas de control de constitucionalidad en Estados Unidos de América y también de varios países latinoamericanos, incluido Colombia. En 1963 pronunció tres conferencias en la Universidad Autónoma de México, editadas en el libro El control de constitucionalidad de las leyes y más tarde, en 1977, participó en el II Coloquio Iberoamericano de Derecho Constitucional con sede en Paipa (Boyacá) del 7 al 11 de noviembre de 1977, que fue inaugurado por el presidente Alfonso López Michelsen. El texto de las exposiciones se editó tardíamente en el volumen La jurisdicción constitucional en Iberoamérica, 2.º Coloquio Iberoamericano de Derecho Constitucional, Universidad Externado de Colombia, 1981.
