Wettbewerbspolitik nach der Wirtschaftskrise

Abstract

Skandinavische Länder verfolgen mit der Fokussierung auf Zukunftsinvestitionen und Wettbewerb eine erfolgreiche wirtschaftspolitische Doppelstrategie, die für Österreich als Vorbild dienen kann. Während der Aufholbedarf in Bezug auf Zukunftsinvestitionen von der österreichischen Wirtschaftspolitik erkannt wurde, wird die Intensivierung des Wettbewerbs als Handlungsoption vernachlässigt. Die Stärkung des Wettbewerbs wäre unter den Rahmenbedingungen einer Konsolidierung der öffentlichen Haushalte eine attraktive wirtschaftspolitische Option zur Steigerung von Wachstum und Beschäftigung in Österreich. Durch eine proaktive Ausrichtung der allgemeinen Wettbewerbspolitik, den Abbau wettbewerbsverzerrender Regulierungen und Subventionen sowie durch Privatisierungen könnte die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit nachhaltig gestärkt werden.
