Langfristige Auswirkungen einer Energieverteuerung auf den Verkehr

Abstract

Mit einem Anteil am Endenergieverbrauch von 29% liegt der Verkehr fast gleichauf mit der gesamten Sachgüterproduktion. In den letzten Jahrzehnten wuchs die Nutzung der energieintensivsten Verkehrsträger – Luftfahrt, Straßentransport und motorisierter Individualverkehr – am stärksten und prägte räumliche Siedlungs- und Produktionsstrukturen sowie Konsumgewohnheiten. Auch eine anhaltend deutliche Energieverteuerung durch eine zunehmende Erdölverknappung wird den Einsatz dieser Verkehrsmittel kaum einschränken. Allerdings besteht ein großes Potential zur Steigerung ihrer Energieeffizienz.
