Abstract

Die mittelfristige Verlagerung des Geschäftsschwerpunktes österreichischer Privatversicherer zur Lebensversicherung wurde 2002 unterbrochen. Der Rückgang der Einmalerläge in der Lebensversicherung wurde durch die Zunahme laufender Prämieneinnahmen nicht ausgeglichen. In der Krankenversicherung hatten Preiserhöhungen eine mäßige Steigerung der Prämieneinnahmen zur Folge. Die Sanierung der Kfz-Versicherung schreitet voran. Die Verluste aus dem versicherungstechnischen Geschäft konnten 2002 dennoch nicht durch Kapitalerträge wettgemacht werden. Mit einer dynamischen Entwicklung der Prämieneinnahmen baute die Schaden-Unfallversicherung ihre traditionell große Bedeutung wieder aus.
