Arbeitsmarktperspektiven und Pensionsfinanzierung bis 2030

Abstract

Die finanzielle Nachhaltigkeit des österreichischen Pensionsversicherungssystems steht in einem engen Zusammenhang mit der künftigen Arbeitsmarktentwicklung. Der Rückgang der Zahl der Erwerbspersonen lässt in den kommenden Jahrzehnten eine zunehmende Überschussnachfrage auf dem Arbeitsmarkt erwarten. Ein Anstieg der Beschäftigung und der Pro-Kopf-Einkommen sind für ein umlagefinanziertes Pensionssystem – insbesondere aufgrund der bevorstehenden demographischen Verschiebung ("alternde Gesellschaft")– von zentraler Bedeutung. Eine Steigerung der Erwerbsquoten ermöglicht nicht nur weiterhin eine prosperierende Wirtschaft, sondern auch steigende Beitragseinnahmen in der Pensionsversicherung der Unselbständigen.
