Kräftiger Konjunkturaufschwung mildert die gravierenden Budgetprobleme. Prognose für 2000 und 2001

Abstract

Die Konjunktur hat seit Jahresbeginn deutlich an Dynamik gewonnen. Das WIFO hebt deshalb seine Wachstumsprognose auf 3,5% 2000 und 3,2% 2001 an. Der Export profitiert von der starken europäischen Konjunktur; seine Expansion zieht eine hohe Investitionstätigkeit nach sich: Die Industrieunternehmen wollen ihre Investitionen heuer um eine zweistellige Rate steigern. Der private Konsum wird durch den Einkommensschub der Steuerreform und des "Familienpakets" stimuliert. Die Beschleunigung des Wirtschaftswachstums mildert die gravierenden Budgetprobleme etwas und trägt auch wesentlich zur deutlichen Verringerung der Arbeitslosigkeit bei.
