Makroökonomische Aspekte von Transportkosten

Abstract

Transportkosten beeinflussen die räumliche Wirtschaftsstruktur sehr stark. In den letzten Jahrzehnten verbilligten sich Transporte in Relation zu den Güterpreisen. Dies förderte die arbeitsteilige Wirtschaft, die Agglomerationstendenzen und die Großproduktion. Eine stärkere Umsetzung von umweltpolitischen Zielen in der Verkehrspolitik könnte die Entwicklung der Transportpreise entscheidend verändern: Zunehmende Engpässe im Straßennetz und eine stärkere Anlastung von Unfall- und Umweltkosten des Verkehrs würden Transporte wieder verteuern.
