Trotz abgeschwächter Konjunktur optimistische Investitionspläne für 1999. Ergebnisse des WIFO-Investitionstests vom Herbst 1998

Abstract

Die im WIFO-Investitionstest erfaßten Unternehmen planen für 1999 eine nominelle Steigerung ihrer Investitionen gegenüber dem Vorjahr um 8,0%. Die Konjunkturerwartungen der Industrie für 1999 sind vorsichtig, die Unternehmen gehen von einer nominellen Umsatzsteigerung um 2,8% aus. Sie planen umfangreiche Investitionsvorhaben (nominell +14,7%) – teilweise sind dies Projekte, die 1998 zurückgestellt wurden. Angesichts der Abschwächung der Baukonjunktur gegen Ende 1998 erstellten die Bauunternehmen im jüngsten WIFO-Investitionstest ihre Pläne für Maschinen- und Geräteinvestitionen für 1999 zurückhaltend: Die ersten Ansätze liegen deutlich unter dem Niveau der Jahre 1997 und 1998. In der Elektrizitätswirtschaft ist nach der derzeitigen Planung 1999 ein Einbruch der Investitionstätigkeit zu erwarten (–19,3%).
