Erholung der Weltwirtschaft, Rückgang der Arbeitslosigkeit in Europa

Abstract

Die krisengeschüttelte Weltwirtschaft beginnt sich zu erholen. Die anhaltende Stärke der Inlandsnachfrage in den USA spielt in diesem Zusammenhang eine wichtige stabilisierende Rolle. Die EU hat die Konjunkturdelle des Jahreswechsels 1998/99 überwunden. In der Mehrzahl der Mitgliedsländer wird die weiterhin starke Binnennachfrage nun um eine zunehmende Dynamik der Exporte ergänzt, Konsum- und Investitionsklima entwickeln sich günstig. Dies gilt besonders für Frankreich, wo Konsum- und Baunachfrage stark expandieren und die vielseitigen Maßnahmen der Beschäftigungspolitik zu einem merklichen Rückgang der Arbeitslosigkeit beitragen. Nur in Deutschland und Italien hinkt die Konjunktur weiterhin markant nach, Geld- und Budgetpolitik wirken in erheblichem Ausmaß wachstumsdämpfend.
