Österreichs Osthandel seit der Wende 1989

Abstract

Seit 1989 haben sich die österreichischen Ostexporte verdreifacht, der Exportanteil der Oststaaten ist von 9,9% auf 17,6% gestiegen und könnte im Jahr 2005 22% erreichen. Vor allem in den ersten Jahren nach dem Umbruch weitete Österreich seine Position im Osten außergewöhnlich stark aus. Nach 1992 konnte Österreich seine Stellung nur noch halten, wobei Gewinnen in Südosteuropa Verluste in Ost-Mitteleuropa gegenüberstanden. Auch die Ostimporte expandierten mit einem Anstieg auf das 2,5fache überdurchschnittlich. Der Exportüberschuß stieg im Osthandel von 7 Mrd. S 1989 auf 39 Mrd. S 1997. Die Ostimporte dämpften den Preisauftrieb in Österreich und verbesserten als kostengünstige Inputs die internationale Wettbewerbsfähigkeit der Exportwirtschaft.
