Redimensionierungsbedarf im Tourismus

Abstract

Die Tourismuswirtschaft zählt zu den Globalisierungsverlierern der österreichischen Wirtschaft. Mittelfristig könnte ihr Wertschöpfungsanteil von rund 6% bis 6½% auf 4½% bis 5% des BIP sinken. Neue Wettbewerbsvorteile müssen deshalb dringend geschaffen werden, wenn die herausragende Stellung behauptet werden soll. Ein möglicher Ausweg, um die Wertschöpfungs- und Beschäftigungskraft der Tourismus- und Freizeitwirtschaft zu erhalten, ist die strategische Neupositionierung. Erhöhung des Internationalisierungsgrades, Einleitung einer breitgefächerten Qualitätsoffensive, Forcierung von Kooperationen und des Destinationsmanagements, eine verstärkte Erlebnisorientierung sowie die Erschließung wachstumsstarker Marktsegmente (Kurzurlaube, Senioren, Wintersport, Kultur, Marktnischen) sind dabei wichtige Maßnahmen.
