Wirtschaftstendenzen in der Europäischen Union 1995. Konjunkturschwäche hemmt Abbau überhöhter Budgetdefizite

Abstract

Das Wirtschaftswachstum verlangsamte sich in den EU-Ländern 1995 deutlich, es erreichte kaum 2½%. Währungsturbulenzen im Frühjahr schwächten die internationale Wettbewerbsposition der Hartwährungsländer und trübten vor allem dort Geschäftsklima wie Konsumentenstimmung. In den Abwertungsländern dämpften Zinssteigerungen die Inlandsnachfrage. Der Konjunkturabschwung verhinderte einen Rückgang der allgemein hohen Arbeitslosigkeit und erschwerte den Abbau der Budgetdefizite. Dagegen hat die überwiegende Zahl der Mitgliedsländer bereits ein hohes Maß an Preisstabilität erreicht.
