Der Einzelhandel als wichtige Konjunkturstütze. Gute Aussichten für das Weihnachtsgeschäft

Abstract

Der Handel entwickelte sich in der Vergangenheit dynamisch und konnte dadurch seine Bedeutung für die österreichische Wirtschaft ausbauen. Im 1. Halbjahr 1992 verzeichnete der Einzelhandel (Umsätze real +3,2%) dank der kräftigen Konsumnachfrage und der steigenden Fremdenverkehrseinnahmen einen lebhaften Geschäftsgang. Im Durchschnitt der Monate Juli und August blieben die realen Umsätze des Einzelhandels aufgrund einer sehr hohen Ausgangsbasis und der großen Hitze unter dem Vorjahresniveau. Die Umsatzentwicklung des Großhandels (real +1,0%) wurde im 1. Halbjahr durch die internationale Konjunkturschwäche beeinträchtigt. Für das Weihnachtsgeschäft des Einzelhandels scheint im Vorjahresvergleich eine reale Steigerung von rund 2,5% möglich.
