Die Effizienz der österreichischen Familienpolitik

Abstract

Österreich verfügt über ein im internationalen Vergleich sehr gut ausgebautes System der Familienförderung. Obwohl rund 10% des Volkseinkommens für familienpolitische Leistungen aufgewendet werden, ist die Armutsgefährdung für Familien mit mehreren Kindern relativ groß, da die Mittel unabhängig von der Bedürftigkeit ausgeschüttet werden. Das Familienpaket 1993 bringt wohl eine weitere Erhöhung der Leistungen, eine wesentliche Reduktion der Armutsgefährdung könnte aber nur durch eine stärkere Berücksichtigung sozialer Gesichtspunkte erzielt werden.
