Effekte der jüngsten Erdölverteuerung

Abstract

Um der Unsicherheit über die weitere Entwicklung der Erdölpreise Rechnung zu tragen, wurden zwei Szenarien erstellt: ein Hauptszenario, in dem der Spotmarktpreis bis Ende 1991 etwa auf dem derzeitigen Niveau von 25 $ je Barrel verharrt, und ein Krisenszenario mit einem Anstieg auf 39 $ in den nächsten sechs Monaten. Im aus gegenwärtiger Sicht wahrscheinlicheren Hauptszenario halten sich die negativen Auswirkungen auf Österreichs Wirtschaft in Grenzen. Der Preisauftrieb wird durch die Dollarschwäche gedämpft, die Inflationsrate erhöht sich 1991 um knapp ½ Prozentpunkt. Das BIP-Wachstum wird um ½ Prozentpunkt beeinträchtigt und die Leistungsbilanz im Ausmaß von rund 7 Mrd. S belastet. Die Benzinpreiserhöhungen seit Ende Juli entsprechen ungefähr den Notierungen in Rotterdam; vorher hätte allerdings aufgrund der seit dem Herbst gesunkenen Importpreise ein Spielraum für Verbilligungen bestanden.
