Sondereffekte begünstigen Ostösterreich. Die Wirtschaft in den Bundesländern im I. Quartal 1990

Abstract

Von der durch Export, stiegende Einkommen und Investitionen getragenen Konjunktur Nachfrage profitierte die Wirtschaft fast aller Bundesländer ziemlich gleichmäßig. Zum Tragen kamen aber Sondereffekte: Schneemangel und der Ostertermin im II. Quartal wirkten sich vor allem in den traditionellen Urlaubsgebieten im Westen ungünstig aus, während der Städtetourismus weiter wuchs. In der Energieversorgung erforderte die Lage den verstärkten Einsatz der – hauptsächlich in den östlichen Landesteilen gelegenen – Wärmekraftwerke. Diese Komponenten bewirkten in den ersten Monaten des Jahres 1990 ein bisher selten beobachtetes überdurchschnittliches Wirtschaftswachstum in Ostösterreich, die Brutto-Wertschöpfung (ohne Land- und Forstwirtschaft) von Wien, Niederösterreich, dem Burgenland und der Steiermark war insgesamt im I.%Quartal real um 5,9% höher als im Vorjahr, die der übrigen Bundesländer zusammen um nur 3,9%.
