Sonderfaktoren prägen Wachstum des Versicherungsmarktes. Die Entwicklung der österreichischen Versicherungswirtschaft 1988/89

Abstract

Das Wachstum der österreichischen Versicherungswirtschaft war in den Jahren 1988 und 1989 von Sonderfaktoren geprägt. Hatte das Prämienvolumen 1988 mit +9,6% das stärkste Wachstum seit sieben Jahren verzeichnet, so lag es 1989 erstmals in den achtziger Jahren unter dem des nominellen Brutto-Inlandsproduktes. Wesentlichste Ursachen dafür waren ausgeprägte Vorzieheffekte in das Jahr 1988 in der Lebensversicherung vor der Steuerreform und ein Rückgang des Prämienaufkommens in der Kfz-Haftpflichtversicherung durch die 1989 erstmals voll wirksame Preiskonkurrenz. Zugleich hat die Prämienfreigabe in der Kfz-Haftpflicht (mit September 1987) die erwartete deutliche Prämienanhebung und die angestrebte Differenzierung des Prämienangebotes ausgelöst.
