Kräftiger Aufschwung im österreichischen Außenhandel

Abstract

Der österreichische Außenhandel hat im 1. Halbjahr 1989 kräftig expandiert. Der Import nahm stärker zu als der Export, das Hndelsbilanzdefizit hat sich spürbar vergrößert. Die Exportdynamik stützte sich auf Lieferungen in die Oststaaten und in die Entwicklungsländer außerhalb der OPEC. Die kräftige Auslandsnachfrage kam allen Warengruppen zugute. Österreich hat Anfang Juni 1989 den Antrag zur Aufnahme in die EG gestellt. Auf die erste Phase der Integrationsdebatte, die damit zu Ende geht, sollte möglichst bald eine Vorbereitungsphase folgen. Ein wichtiger Grund für den EG-Antrag Österreichs war die Sicherung eines uneingeschränkten Zugangs zum EG-Markt.
