Abkühlung der Konjunktur in den westlichen Industriestaaten

Abstract

Der Aufschwung der internationalen Konjunktur hat im Herbst 1989 an Tempo verloren. Einer merklichen Abkühlung in den USA, in Kanada und Großbritannien steht eine weiter lebhafte Entwicklung in den übrigen Staaten gegenüber. Der wichtigste Konjunkturmotor ist die dynamische Investitionstätigkeit in Europa in Erwartung von "1992" (Vollendung des Binnenmarktes). Der restriktiven Geldpolitik gelang es, die Inflationsbeschleunigung zu bremsen. Trotz hoher Beschäftigungszuwächse kommt der Abbau der Arbeitslosigkeit nur langsam voran. Die Prognosen bis 1991 unterstellen eine "sanfte Landung" der Konjunktur, d. h. eine leichte Verlangsamung des Wirtschaftswachstums in der OECD insgesamt von 4,4% 1988 auf 3% 1991.
