Les marchés d’action : quelle place pour l’Europe

Abstract

Le 22 septembre 2000, les bourses de Paris, Bruxelles et Amsterdam ont fusionné pour créer Euronext, la première bourse transnationale. Il est permis de penser que ce mouvement de concentration va se poursuivre, même si l’état actuel des marchés financiers ne pousse pas à l’optimisme. Les objectifs de cette fusion sont clairs ; proposer une gamme de produits élargie et augmenter l’efficacité et la transparence des transactions en uniformisant les procédures de négociation et de cotation. Dans une perspective plus large, il s’agit aussi, bien évidemment, de positionner favorablement le marché européen face à ses concurrents nord-américains et asiatiques.
