Abstract

The paper analyses the productivity indicators of railways of member countries of the International Union of Railways (UIC). The article defines the place of domestic rail transport for scoring compliance with its international standards and developed proposals for modernization to achieve international standards. The basis of the analysis is a known method of scoring widely used internationally for the determination of ratings and which is based on calculation of the position of each country among other countries. Ukraine's aggregate scoring is quite high - fourth among the UIC. The article presents profound analysis of each of the ten indicators that are included in the calculation of the ranking. The analysis can be used as indicators of the possible increase in productivity of Ukrainian railways and their compliance with the best figures of the foreign railways.
