Las empresas transnacionales y los países en desarrollo: aspectos económicos

Abstract

El trabajo pretende presentar una visión panorámica de los principales tópicos que se discuten en torno a las empresas transnacionales, especialmente, al papel que juegan éstas en los países en vías de desarrollo. Estos tópicos incluyen: la magnitud de la inversión extranjera que se asocia a estas empresas, las causas de la existencia de estas firmas en economías menos desarrolladas, una comparación entre las firmas transnacionales y las empresas nacionales, los costos y beneficios de las empresas multinacionales para países en desarrollo y algunas alternativas de política abierta a estos países.
