Integración económica: criterios macroeconómicos para la configuración del "Club"

Abstract

Consideraciones macroeconómicas normalmente ausentes del análisis de los impactos de comercio preferencial. Sin embargo, creación y desviación de comercio pueden inducir efectos no triviales sobre la estabilidad y crecimiento de socios potenciales en acuerdos comerciales preferenciales. El artículo sugiere consideraciones que parecen pertinentes en la discusión de política dentro del marco de la integración económica. Intenta estimar también, mediante un método empírico simple, los efectos probables de acuerdos de libre comercio con cada uno de los países escogidos sobre la estabilidad del tipo de cambio real y términos de intercambio de Chile. Propone también un modelo teórico que analiza la respuesta de una economía sometida a políticas comerciales alternativas a shocks de eficiencia.
