Abstract

Esta sección tratará brevemente algunas de las distintas interpretaciones que se han postulado en los intentos para explicar el sub-desarrollo de Chile. Los enfoques empleados por los distintos autores han diferido mucho. Algunos, tales como Osvaldo Sunkel y Gunder Frank, han situado los esfuerzos de Chile para desarrollarse dentro de un marco analítico que incluye los esfuerzos exitosos desplegados por las economías ricas para lograr el desarrollo. Otros, como Aníbal Pinto, Claudio Véliz y Roberto Will, examinan más de cerca los factores internos que han impedido que Chile lograse el desarrollo económico.
