Pobreza y mercado de trabajo en el Gran Santiago: 1969-1985

Abstract

Este trabajo investiga la relación entre la dinámica del mercado de trabajo y el de la pobreza. Para ello estudia los cambios en el mercado de trabajo en el Gran Santiago entre 1969 y1985. Tomando a la familia como unidad de análisis el trabajo elabora un criterio para definición de pobreza, cuantifica su magnitud y describe el perfil sociodemográfico y ocupacional de las familias que califican en los distintos estratos de pobreza. Ello permite distinguir tres tipos de factores que caracterizan la pobreza: estructurales, microfamiliares e institucionales, lo que a su vez lleva a definir acciones de política para combatir la pobreza dentro del contexto de estrategias de sobrevivencia familiar. Importantes conclusiones de política se derivan del análisis, además se cuantifican sus opciones de financiamiento.
