Nota técnica 2: Trimestralización de series de balanza de pagos. Métodos de series relacionadas con información incompleta

Abstract

Una de las limitaciones en el uso de modelos y técnicas econométricas para el estudio de la realidad económica chilena es la carencia de series estadísticas lo suficientemente extensas. La disponibilidad de series con una frecuencia mayor a la anual para las distintas cuentas de la balanza de pagos está entre las metas más importantes a fin de relajar la restricción informativa. Este esfuerzo se suma a otros ya realizados para las Cuentas Nacionales y para el empleo a nivel nacional, entregando valores trimestrales para el saldo de la balanza de pagos, la cuenta de capitales, la cuenta corriente y sus cuentas componentes. La muestra se extiende desde 1961 a 1984.
