Un modelo para la determinación de flujos y parámetros dinámicos en el mercado del trabajo

Abstract

El entendimiento de la forma que opera el mercado del trabajo en Chile es clave para un análisis de las posibles soluciones al problema del desempleo. La caracterización del mercado del trabajo en términos de variables de flujo tales como el número de personas contratadas, despedidas e incorporadas a la fuerza de trabajo por primera vez, permite un entendimiento más profundo de este mercado. En este artículo se desarrolla un modelo para estimar estas variables de flujo, utilizando información contenida en las encuestas de ocupación y desocupación de la Universidad de Chile. Estas variables se calculan a partir de 1961 para el Gran Santiago y desde 1980 a nivel nacional. Al comparar los resultados de la década de los años sesenta con la última década, se advierten cambios importantes en el mercado laboral.
