Abstract

GROENEWOLD N., HAGGER A. J. and MADDEN J. R. (1987) The measurement of industry employment contribution in an input-output model, Reg. Studies 21, 255--263. This paper addresses the question of measuring the contribution which a particular industry makes to regional employment within the framework of a closed input-output model. Four alternative methods are proposed each corresponding to a different way of posing the question. Two of the measures are related to the measurement of 'Hirschmanian linkages’ found in the economic development literature. GROENEWOLD N., HAGGER A. J. und MADDEN J. R. (1987) Die Messung des Beitrags der Industrie zur Arbeit-splatzbeschaffung in einem Aufwand-Ertragsmodell, Reg. Studies 21, 255--263.
