Food voluntary standards and sustainable rural development: analytical framework for assessment of impacts
AbstractIn this paper, we examine a range of voluntary standards (Organic, Fairtrade, GlobalGAP, geographical indications, etc.), and propose an analytical framework for assessing their economic, environmental and social impacts. Previous research works have identified the dimensions as well as some indicators to describe these impacts. The impacts of the voluntary standards result from complex interactions between collective and individual actions, and public policies.
