Valorización del balance de N y P de la soja en Uruguay

    Abstract

    En Uruguay el cultivo de soja (Glycine max) pasó de 10.000 a 865.000 hectáreas de la zafra 2002/03 a la 2009/10. Entre las transformaciones que provocó destaca el aumento en la presión sobre el suelo, asociada al incremento de los sistemas de agricultura continua con alta frecuencia de soja en la rotación. Estos sistemas tienden a afectar negativamente la fertilidad del suelo entre otros motivos por el desbalance nutricional que provocan. Por este motivo este trabajo se propone dos objetivos: 1) analizar el balance aparente de Nitrógeno (N) y Fósforo (P) en el cultivo de soja de la zafra 2005/06 a la zafra 2009/10; y 2) aproximarse a una valorización económica del balance de nutrientes. El balance aparente de nutrientes arroja déficit tanto para P y N. El déficit total de N varía entre 32.219 y 101.430 toneladas por zafra, con un costo reposición estimado que va de US$ 13,6 millones a US$ 48,9 millones. Por su parte el déficit total de P en cada zafra acumuló entre 909 y 9.970 toneladas por año, con un costo de reposición estimado que va de US$ 0,9 millones a US$ 11,5 millones.
