Modelos de transporte y emisiones de CO2 en España

Abstract

El sector del transporte es el primer emisor de gases de efecto invernadero en España, incluso si se consideran solamente las emisiones generadas en la tracción de los vehículos. Si se imputan también las emisiones generadas en la construcción y mantenimiento de los vehículos y las infraestructuras, las emisiones del sector se acrecientan sustancialmente. En el presente artículo se realizan algunas estimaciones de las emisiones de CO2 que generan los diferentes modos de transporte España, así como de la evolución que han registrado en los últimos años. Se aportan también algunas consideraciones sobre posibles estrategias de intervención pública en el sector, que podrían rebajar en cierto grado las emisiones y reducir las dificultades a las que se enfrenta España para cumplir los compromisos derivados del Protocolo de Kyoto.
