Abstract

ABSTRACT Andalusia is a region of multiple landscapes. For centuries travellers, writers and painters have being generated a connotative and dichotomic image in this community by emphasising some of them and ignoring others in their works. More recently the landscape has been considered above all as environmental resource related to the quality of life. Because of that the landscape has turned into a worry of the public administrations. The aim of this work is to analyse the meaning of Andalusian landscapes as a symbolic representation and as a component of the policies of town and country planning.
