Contribuciones de la CEPAL en los estudios del fenómeno urbano-metropolitano, 1950-1990

Abstract

RESUMEN En los ultimos cincuenta años, el tema urbano - metropolitano ha tomado cada vez mayor relevancia dentro del ámbito de la investigación en las ciencias sociales convirtiéndose en una importante área de análisis de las diferentes disciplinas. Este trabajo hace un recuento de las contribuciones de la Comisión Económica para América Latina, CEPAL, en los estudios urbanos entre las décadas de 1950 y 1990. Especi camente, examina el estado de la investigación del tema urbano, a partir de una revisión de los estudios realizados por la CEPAL, y muestra una tendencia de las contribuciones futuras en los estudios urbanos. SUMMARY In the last fífty years, the urban and metropolitan studies had taken greater relevance in the social research activitíes. At the same time, that has become an important area of analysís of the different disciplines. This work makes a count of the important contributions of the Economic Commission for Latín American and Caribbean Countries (CEPAL), in the urban and metropolitan topic between 1950 and 1990. This article examines the state of the research, through a revision of the urban studíes developed by CEPAL. Also, show us the trend of the future contributions in the eid of urban and envíronmental studíes.
