Zwischen Barmherzigkeit, moralischer Pflicht und Kalkuel – Ethik und unternehmerisches Handeln im Fuersorgewesen stadtbernischer Personenkorporationen (18.-21. Jahrhundert)

Abstract

Am Beispiel historischer Personenkorporationen wird untersucht, welche moralischen Leitbilder hinter einem Fuersorgewesen traditionellen Zuschnitts stehen. Gewisse ethische Grundsaetze blieben ueber Jahrhunderte konstant. Weil die Korporationen die Unterstuetzung ihrer Beduerftigen aus Vermoegensertraegen finanzierten, bestand ein Widerspruch zwischen wirtschaftlichen und karitativen Zielsetzungen. Die Verantwortlichen gingen mit den Mitteln stets haushaelterisch um. Dank gesunder Finanzen existieren die Korporationen ueber Epochengrenzen hinweg bis in die Gegenwart.
