Abstract

[eng] A sense of depression is spreading amongst the French and they feel the overall economic situation is gloomy. At the same time, they feel relatively satisfied with their living conditions and cast a realistic judgment on the French society. Family structures are continuing to evolve and family life remains the most pleasant situation for the French. Shift-work is increasing but working conditions are getting better. After two years of distress some economic agents are feeling more confident. A consensus is growing inside companies about the value of « performance » and the need for negotiations. All the same, French pessimism concerning the economic situation is growing. And today, more than ever, it is influencing political opinions.
