Abstract
[eng] Trade, FDI and regional integration in the Mercosur. . In the 90's, the Mercosur countries experienced a strong growth of trade and foreign direct investment (FDI). To examine the relationship between FDI, trade and regional integration in the Mercosur, we test two gravitational equations on trade and FDI flows between Mercosur and OECD members during the period 1985-1997, which take into account the regional integration agreement. Our results show a positive link between FDI and trade flows but are mitigated on the impact of the economic integration on FDI.Download Info
