Abstract

[eng] As far as prices paid to farmers are concerned, european agriculture is rather competitive with Northern America for essential commodities such as milk, sugar and wheat. On the contrary, it's quite disadvantaged on all the productions for feed. Thus, animal productions-especially hogs — are strongly harmed by excess feed cost, although their own level of performance is good. More generally, the global trends show a reduction of the differences between the two groups of countries on all the products. The reforms which have been implemented by EEC since 1984 are thus clearly expressed.
