Abstract

[eng] Hunting reveals conflicts and competition with regard to the use of space and nature. Municipal shooting associations, which are traditional, serve to build protection against misbehaviour by certain local people. They are in fact collective self defense devices which enhance local solidarity and reinforce the identity of the commune. [fre] La chasse est devenue l'enjeu de pratiques concurrentielles et conflictuelles de l'espace et de la « nature ». Protection contre la pression des chasseurs « étrangers » d'origine urbaine, résistance à l'interventionnisme étatique, répression diffuse de la dissidence de certains détenteurs de droits de chasse, les associations communales traditionnelles constituent de véritables dispositifs d'auto-défense collective qui ravivent les liens de solidarité locale et la force de l'identité communale.
