The role of equity markets in financing economic activity

Abstract

[eng] This interview deals with the current changes of equity markets, particularly with the significant slowdown of issues on the primary market and the evolution of institutional investors’ portfolios. The authors expose their point of view concerning the increase of private-equity investment and leverage buyout. At last, they expose their opinion on the competitive and global environment linked to a geographical financial centre and on the consolidations of stock exchanges. . JEL classification : G14, G24
