Abstract

. Classification JEL : G10, G20 [eng] Intermediation, financial intermediaries and market . The purpose of this article is to define and to assess the trend towards disintermediation and securitisation in the French economy. The traditional distinction between direct and indirect finance is questioned. The analysis emphasizes the growing interaction between the different categories of financing and activity, and the requirements which must be satisfied in the new environment (particularly, transparency and stability). Lastly, the article presents different measures of the disintermediation process and the securitisation process, highlighting their diversity and their complementarity. . Classification JEL : G10, G20
